Description Summary:  Under direction of the Shift Supervisor, the driver is responsible for safe and on time delivery of all items for the specific route.  The driver is responsible for safe driving practices & ensuring no damage is caused to product while in route to the customer.

 

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:  (Other duties may be assigned)

1.      Ensure all items are securely and properly fastened/loaded prior to departing facility for delivery route.

2.      Verify all required items for the specific route are loaded and accounted for prior to departing facility for delivery route

3.      Deliver glass daily to customers and/or specified delivery address

4.      Unload trucks at various customer sites.  Must utilize safe lifting and glass handling practices at all times. 

5.      Interact with all customers in a professional and courteous manner.

6.      Maintain a clean & professional personal appearance at all times

7.      Maintain clean vehicle

8.      Process all paperwork per delivery

9.      Exhibits a proven record of dependability, punctuality, and good attitude.  Strong attendance record is required.

  7. Prepares and update standard costs. Directs the operation department in the use of the standard versus current cost systems
  8. Reports on labor and overhead variances. Explores opportunities for cost savings based on review and audit of inventory and costed work order data.

Quality Control Engineer

Description Summary:  Under direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Control Engineer (CQE) is responsible for ensuring the highest quality product output from all BEP processes.  S/He will be the BEP quality control point of contact and work on and deliver quality focused continuous improvement projects in an effort to reduce defects, improve process performances, and eliminate wastes while managing the BEP quality program.

 

Responsible for coordination of simple and/or complex and multi-disciplined quality engineering projects from concept to implementation. Coordinates all work within the scope of assigned projects to ensure objectives in terms of quality, cost, and time are met. Manage and improve processes to uphold and improve product quality standards in areas of responsibility utilizing lean manufacturing principles and six sigma practices. Track and monitor key quality performance metrics in order to reduce defects. Strong influential leadership skills are necessary when planning and implementing projects and when prioritizing facility quality activities. The ability to effectively present information, defend a position and address concerns is key to fostering collaboration.

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:  (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for overall Quality performance of BEP across all shifts against key performance indicator metrics (i.e. Basco & 3rd Party Rejects/Returns, Internal Remakes, No Charge, various internal audits, etc.)
  • Main contact for Basco rejects, fix and returns, lates and back orders. Reviews and investigates all rejects/returns, documents findings in appropriate reports, takes corrective action to prevent and improve identified causes.
  • Immediately enters all remakes into system.  Tracks progress to ensure fastest recovery and redelivery to customer.
  • Audit and maintains necessary records/documentation for all product/process/customer certifications. (i.e. SGCC certs, Intertek laminating certs, Guardian Shower Guard, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with all Basco personnel, 3rd Party customers, vendors/suppliers, and outside auditors/regulatory agencies.
  • Play a lead role in process improvement through collaboration, listening to internal/external customers, managing projects, developing & monitoring performance, and driving desired outcomes.
  • Utilizes basic statistical analysis to monitor and improve processes, identify and correct deficiencies in processes, and utilizes statistical and spreadsheet software for root cause analysis.
  • Initiates and participates in corrective/preventive action stemming from internal audit findings, customer complaints, and product and process issues.
  • Responsible for conformance of product, processes, and services to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Reports to Plant Manager at prescribed intervals on quality objectives, performance of the quality system, customer issues, and project statuses. Also reporting between intervals on issues as appropriate
  • Conduct trainings for shop floor team members to meet or exceed shop quality metrics.
  • Completes and delivers all reports fully and on time.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management

  • Breaks out glass according to size, thickness and shape
  • Utilizes tools provided for break-out and follows in-place procedures and techniques for a quality break
  • Ability to learn all phases of glass cutting including entering job number and settings into control panel at the start of the cutting process.
  • Runs and performs various oven operator duties
  • Stacks glass on racks provided and secures loaded glass for transportation to next operation.
  • Lifts, moves, or carries 50 pounds or more of glass consistently during the shift
  • Have ability to lift up to 80 pounds repetitively during the shift
  • Must have ability to read tape measure, basic mathematic skills required
  • Exhibits a proven record of dependability, punctuality, and good attitude

Under direction of the Manager, the Custom Packer will perform the following:

 

Duties:

Operations Support Specialist

 

Position:   Operations Support Specialist

Hours:             8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Location –       Basco Mason

Under direction of the Director of Engineering the Operation Support Specialist will be liaison between Customer Service and Manufacturing through their extensive knowledge of product and process.  The ideal candidate will have a technical background, and will have a general understanding of manufacturing or order process and flow.  They must be self-motivated and able to multitask.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Work Orders for Manufacturing including but not limited to processing Work Orders in specific order to optimize manufacturing time
  • Handle Work Order request for Date and Carrier changes, cancellations, ship to location changes and or addition/deletion of product on an open Order.
  • Processes Return Material
  • Validate and enter Order Credits
  • Process internal Late and Back Ordered report including but not limited to determining root cause, developing report by carrier and inputting data in Late/Back Order log
  • Produce manufacturing graphs.
  • Takes corrective action on customer issues; traces the progress of orders throughout life-cycle from Entry to Delivery.
  • Obtains and retains product knowledge.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in investigating and resolving technical product and or process issues.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail.
  • Completes multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates a proficiency in computer programs related to word processing, spreadsheets, data entry and AS400 application.
  • Good organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to problem solve.
  • The ability to communicate in a positive manner with customers, sales, and management verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to communicate with customers and coworkers in a professional manner
  • Works independently and remains self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.


Background and Experience

An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. 
  • 1-2 years’ experience supporting a manufacturing and or technical environment with but not limited to Operational Support, Data Entry, and Technical Service and or Manufacturing Lead experience. 


Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office environment; however some tasks may take place in the on-site factory.

 

Personal Protective Equipment

When entering the shop environment, the use of safety glasses and protective clothing is required.  Hearing protection is recommended in certain areas of the shop.

Installers will be responsible for the installation and service of our customer manufactured Shower Doors.

 

What are we looking for?

 
A minimum of 2 years of Heavy Glass shower door installation and/or remodeling experience:
·         A strong focus on customer service
·         Scheduled availability to work when homeowners are available and in their homes (between hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm)
·         Self-motivation and results orientation
·         Time and work process management skills with the ability to work independently

 

Requirements for an Installer:
·         Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
·         Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
·         High School education

 

Required experience:

·         Finish Carpentry or Shower Door Installation, 2 years
·         Training will be provided at our facility in Cincinnati, Ohio
